Sam Reges, General Manager, Great Clips

Sam Reges is a Next Generation Great Clips franchisee. Sam graduated from St. Ambrose University in 2009, with a degree in Forensic Psychology. After exploring her field, she had the unexpected opportunity to join her family Great Clips franchise working part time on marketing and advertising. In December 2010, she began working full time in the franchise in Operations.

From the start of her Operations career, she knew she had to become an expert in anything that the organization was needing at the time, namely advanced scheduling and technology. This journey led her to a corporate committee tasked with building a new software and hardware solution for the Great Clips system. Sam has led her organization through becoming the first to completely convert to this new system and participated in several special projects and committees along the way. In 2018, Sam was named General Manager of the Year for the Great Clips system. 2018 was an eventful year as Sam then officially became a franchisee.

Her advice to next generation family business owners would be to “remember our similarities and differences as family members make us stronger than others. We know each other inside and out and have to be careful to use that for good. When involved in a family business, things may seem to impact oneself deeper; this intense impact, will help drive great success, if applied properly. No one will take ownership in a family business like a family member who is passionate about the organizations potential.”
