Laura Spaulding, President, Spaulding Decon
Laura Spaulding is the owner and president of Spaulding Decon, the first nationally franchised decontamination service to offer crime scene, hoarding and meth-lab cleanup throughout the United States. Before founding Spaulding Decon in 2005, Spaulding served in the U.S. Army and spent seven years in law enforcement, working narcotics and vice in Kansas City’s toughest neighborhoods. Using a $15,000 home equity loan, she began the company as its only employee, cleaning crime scenes by herself for the first year. In 2006, she hired her first employees and expanded her services to include meth labs and hoarding sites. Since then, her leadership has helped the company grow by 50 percent every year.
