Cindy Edwards – Efficiency First Solutions Founder and President

Founder and President Cindy Edwards Efficiency First Solutions has spent 40 years in the construction industry in both the commercial, aerospace/ industrial and residential markets. The first 17 years were spent in the carpenter’s union. She was the second female apprentice carpenter to be accepted into Carpenter local 2477. Cindy credentialed as a journeyman carpenter, then worked her way up to project manager.

20 years ago she co- founded CK Builders, a residential remodeling construction company, which she still operates on the California central coast. More recently, she became interested in energy efficiency and received her certification as a building analyst through B.P.I. ( Building Performance Institute) in 2012. This set the course for an interest in whole house energy efficiency, with a focus on Indoor Air Quality (IAQ), which focuses on assessing and upgrading homes to meet and exceed comfort, health and energy efficiency concerns. She went on to receive specialized training for sensitized individuals suffering from a chronic illness known as CIRS (Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome) and

Cindy has co-authored a book entitled “Mold illness Surviving and Thriving” a recovery manual for patients and families impacted by CIRS. This specialized training and experience has uniquely positioned Ms. Edwards to follow her passion of assisting sensitized individuals to create, remodel, and maintain healthy building environments in which they can thrive.

In 2019 Cindy Edwards Efficiency First Solutions. Efficiency First Solutions was born out of her passion to find an affordable way to air seal buildings using balanced ventilation, a goal she believes should be everyone’s target. The ability to control fresh air, balance air pressures, and prevent poor quality air from entering the home from attics, crawlspaces, and wall cavities is the key to a healthy and energy efficient home. The savings associated with improved health and energy benefits continue to recoup the cost of improvements for the life of the home or building.
