Niko Frangos is a business development leader and entrepreneur who, in his current position, leads the Rascal House executive team on a new journey of growth and development, spearheading all efforts of the company’s franchise expansion program. Prior to Rascal House, Niko worked in Los Angeles, CA where he studied film and ran his own animation production company. His credits include dozens of films with Walt Disney Feature Animation, Warner Brothers Studios, Turner Studios and others in a variety of artistic roles including concept development.
Rascal House was founded in 1980 by Niko’s parents Mike and Fouly Frangos. Niko grew up in the business prior to moving to Los Angeles to pursue film. Niko was always connected to the brand and would spend time talking to his father Mike about Mike’s plans to grow the business as demand for Rascal House began to spread. It was during one of Niko’s many return visits to Cleveland approximately 8 years ago, where he spent some time with one of Rascal House’s first franchisees. Hearing the life changing story, the success and pride that the brand provided for this franchisee was what caused Niko to start refocusing his attention toward the process of building a healthy and infrastructurally sound franchise company. “There is nothing as powerful as the win-win that is created through franchising with the right people. If you teach someone how to be successful and only then you can truly be successful? That’s a business model that I can champion” says Niko.
Whether it’s art or restaurants, Niko’s focus has and continues to be on people and building purpose driven teams. He believes, today more than ever, clear values and leadership with integrity are the keys to success in any organization.
Niko and the Rascal House team have opened up the opportunity to a Nationwide audience and are excited to develop successful relationships with new franchisees.
What is the makeup of a good franchisee for Rascal House?
There are essentially two franchisees: Semi-absentee Owner, Owner Operator
The make up of a good semi-absentee owner is someone who has a business background, communicates very well, is well capitalized and is coachable toward learning how to control this business. Semi-absentee will need to communicate well with his GM/Operations Person. We work hand in hand with this franchisee daily, weekly, monthly (reviewing daily numbers/cash/business metrics) to make sure the business is functioning at its optimum level. We teach/coach while providing a toolbox of support to properly manage where it’s needed in the business.
The Owner Operator (franchisee) will combine the skills of the semi-absentee owner along with having a restaurant operations background (experience with scheduling, budgeting, working with KPI’s and managing and developing a team of entry level/non-highly trained/skilled workforce). The core makeup of this person is coach-ability to follow our system which produces high revenue, high volume, high service operations. A restaurant operations and management expert will be able to hit the ground running quickly and be successful quickly.
